  Job Description

  What your new role will entail:

  Our thriving Water Engineering business is seeking a skilled Senior Hydraulic Engineer to join our Hydraulics team and contribute to our exciting portfolio of multimillion-pound UK Water Industry projects. Our team is responsible for conducting hydraulic analysis and designing water/wastewater treatment plants and transfer pipelines for a diverse range of clients.

  This role represents a great opportunity to develop your career as a hydraulic engineer, delivering innovative solutions on a diverse range of projects that meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.

  Key responsibilities of this position include:

  Developing robust, reliable, innovative, and cost-effective hydraulic designs.

  Preparing design reports that detail the calculations/analysis performed and their key findings.

  Estimating and budgeting man-hours for design tasks.

  Ensuring that all activities adhere to Health and Safety Regulations and Accepted Industry Practices.

  Validating all deliverables; including calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications, in accordance with our Quality Assurance (QA) system.

  You will join our hydraulics team, a vibrant group of technical experts with deep expertise in water & wastewater. From treatment plants and pumping stations to intakes, outfalls, and complex networks, their knowledge encompasses the entire industry. Utilizing industry-standard software, they craft innovative solutions for even the most challenging hydraulic problems. This role offers exceptional opportunities for career progression and development.

  The Water business brings together the skills of project managers, hydrologists, water scientists, numerical modellers and civil, electrical, process and mechanical engineers. We do this to provide integrated, sustainable and cost-effective solutions. Our work ranges from high profile infrastructure schemes through to locally significant projects that make a real difference to communities. We work with a large number of the water companies in the UK, private clients, and government entities. We also work on a number of very high profile and prestigious projects overseas from our UK offices.

  Qualifications

  Here's what we will need from you:

  Proven experience in hydraulic design within the UK Water Industry.

  Chartered status or approaching Chartered status.

  Comprehensive knowledge of hydraulic design principles.

  Expertise in free surface flow design.

  Experience in design and build projects.

  Effective articulation of concepts and ideas for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  Ability to produce clear, accurate, and concise engineering reports and specifications.
