　　GEICO is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with a passion for building high-performance, low maintenance, zero-downtime platforms, and applications. You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission, while co-creating the culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement.

　　Our Senior Engineer is a key member of the engineering staff working across the organization to provide a friction-less experience to our customers and maintain the highest standards of protection and availability. The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge, typically ranging from front-end UIs through back-end systems and all points in between.

　　Position Responsibilities

　　As a Senior Engineer, you will:Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systemsDesign and implement enterprise data governance solutionsDesign and implement data quality solutionsDesign and implement solutions to manage data products, data contracts and data dictionariesDesign and implement data lineage solutionsBuild product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solutionEngage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycleLead in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organizationDefine, create, and support reusable application components/patterns from a business and technology perspectiveMentor other engineersConsistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teamsQualificationsExperience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systemsExperience with programming languages like Java, Python, .NET, SQL, and NoSQL databasesExperience with version control such as GITExperience with Big Data technologies such as HBase, Hive, Kafka, Graph DB and CassandraKnowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication)Experience with container orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and various Azure tools and servicesFamiliar with Microsoft. Net tools and technologies specifically in: ASP. Net (MVC and Web API), WCF Web ServicesExperience with relational and non-relational database technologies (SQL, Oracle, COSMOS, NoSQL etc.)Experience with Load test tooling (Gatling or equivalent)Experience with Spring Boot Framework and other Spring technologiesExperience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Thousand Eyes, Influx, Grafana or equivalentsProven understanding of microservices oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs and GraphQLExperience architecting and designing new and current systemsAdvanced understanding of DevOps concepts including Azure DevOps framework and toolsUnderstanding and experience working with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, Gradle, Artifactory, Microsoft Azure DevOpsExperience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as codeExperience with microservices oriented architecture and RESTful webservicesAdvanced shell scripting skillsAdvanced understanding of monitoring concepts and toolingExperience in the complete software development life cycleExperience specifically with React (Clean Architecture) or Angular and GITExperience with version control concepts including branching, merging, and conflict resolutionExperience with API development and integration, Spring Boot framework and other Spring technologiesExperience in Python developmentStrong problem-solving abilityAbility to excel in a fast-paced environmentExperience4+ years of professional software development experience with JAVA programming or OOP style language3+ years of experience with architecture and design3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service2+ years of experience in open-source frameworksEducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experienceAnnual Salary

　　$72,000.00 - $185,000.00

　　The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
