Job Description The Value-Added Services organization creates and delivers products to Visa clients and accelerates the seamless delivery of our products into markets. The VAS Product & Portfolio Operations team is accountable for managing, prioritizing, and commercializing the entire portfolio of Visa’s Value-Added Services offerings. The Senior Director, Business Control will play a key role in organizing a complex suite of capabilities by providing a structured approach to designing, monitoring, and testing controls across the VAS business. This leader will maintain the central roadmap for the Business Unit and Regional control testing and remediation plans and will play a key role in risk forums and risk assessments and approvals. We are seeking a senior leader that can balance a strategic level of interaction with a pragmatic, data-driven and hands-on comprehension of the details. This role will interface frequently with senior business executives as well as product managers, sales, strategy and developers at the individual contributor level.
The Senior Director, Business Control will partner closely with teams across VAS to manage capacity planning and identify and remove delivery risks as they arise. The successful candidate will have over a decade of experience leading first line of defence teams or have deep experience in the second or third line of defence. He or she will have strong consensus building skills and will be comfortable providing guidance and guardrails to a large and disparate team of product managers and supporting professionals. This role sits at the intersection of several different teams, and enables connections with technology, sales, marketing, and support organizations.

Enable operational excellence across VAS teams through the establishment of processes and standardsChallenge the status quo of past process models and execute with a focus on control effectiveness, and risk maturityStrengthen business cases submitted from Business Units to help team achieve executive risk management approvalsTrack and manage the effectiveness of risk management processesDrive risk management standards in VAS to ensure solutions are optimized to support operational excellenceImplement improved risk management interaction models between the VAS organization and our core internal partners in Technology, Client Services, Marketing, and SalesCapture risk metrics & measurables for the VAS that clearly indicate progress toward accomplishment of product risk profile adherenceWork with the Business Unit leadership to identify areas of optimization by deconstructing risk issues, developing solutions, assigning accountability, and following through to conclusionIndependently frame issues, develop recommendations, and advocate for decisions in a fact-based manner in presentations to Product leadership teams. This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work
experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work
experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
• 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an
Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
• 15+ years of accelerated professional growth in leading companies, with a track record of increasing levels of responsibility and accomplishments
• 10+ years of experience in the Risk management or Product Management of a Finance or FinTech organization
• Deep expertise in risk management
• Experience establishing, leading, and successfully completing large risk management practices improvement programs that lead to measurable results
• Professional track record of being given responsibility for large, complex programs
• Established reputation for building peer relationships with senior leaders in a large, complex organization, and being able to communicate and influence groups with highly developed communication skills
• Strong, documented evidence of effective team leadership and people development
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives at once in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and remain calm under pressure. Comfortable with problem solving ambiguity
• Demonstrated ability to build momentum for change and driving the team across the finish line in making it happen.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 181,800.00 to 250,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
