What Deal Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Revenue Management is responsible for developing, communicating, and leading the execution of market strategy and profitability optimization through pricing and value-capture activities at both the strategic and tactical levels. The group uses modeling, analytics, and econometrics to create pricing strategies for our products and services.
Deal Management owns the entire pre-deal process, including collaborating with sales to translate offer strategy into a customer-specific deal strategy and pricing, facilitating the deal approval process and related governance, and financial modeling of deal economics across a variety of scenarios. This job family is also responsible for validating our contracts have the appropriate terms and conditions prior to finalizing the relationship.
Responsibilities
Support the Pharmaceutical distribution Retail and Alternate Care classes of trade by developing deals for existing and new business opportunitiesDedicated support for SVP Retail Independent Sales and ISF Sr Leadership teamPartners with Sales, Operations, Finance, and other key functions to create financial models for customer proposals, understand key drivers of profitability, and effectively communicate recommendations to senior managementPerforms customer and product profitability analysisFacilitates the deal approval process to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.Assist the contract COE team with ensuring that approved financials are incorporated into customer agreementsDeal and contract approval authority for all regional deals (>20/week)Identifies opportunities to drive revenue growth, increase profitability, and limit potential risk from future changes in business or product mixUnderstands market dynamics and competitors. Conducts complex analysis, synthesizes and summarizes implications to business, influencing business partners using analytics and business understandingServes as an objective financial steward with an enterprise perspective, safeguarding our company's assets. Ensures strong controls are in place and the company's intellectual property is protected.Customer facing interactions, where applicableDrive key initiatives within Retail Independent/Alternate Care Deal Management (new go-to-market deal structures, technology and process improvements, etc)Qualifications
Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience preferred7+ years of work experience in Finance, Revenue Management, Commercial and/or Strategy roles preferred.Influential leader with track record of achieving results and the ability to clearly identify and communicate a vision and strategySuperb executive presence coupled with the ability to communicate to all levels and functions within the organization in order to influence senior leaders on key decisionsExceptionally strong Excel skills, ability to build and dive into a P&L, drive enhancements in technologySuccess in working closely with business and sales leaders on profit-generation strategies and introducing new approaches into the marketplaceStrong personal drive to excel and set an example for teams across the organizationPersonal inquisitiveness to find opportunities to grow enterprise profitabilityWhat is expected of you and others at this level
