An important part of the Theatrical Film Distribution Group, the Global Audits team monitors the marketplace for exhibitor programs impacting Disney’s share of the box office. The team performs periodic and real-time audits and analyses of such programs to assess exhibitor compliance with the licensing agreement and to quantify the additional film rental due to Disney in the event of non-compliance. The team also assesses the value/impact of existing and exhibitor-proposed programs, such as subscription and all-inclusive, among others.
Disney Theatrical Group is seeking a Senior Audit Analyst to join their Global Audits team. This person will support the execution of all theatrical distribution audits, including performance of audits of major circuits. They will also present audit findings to theatrical distribution sales executives, in-house legal counsel and exhibitor partners and actively assist in settling audit claims through preparation of various analyses and presentation decks.
Responsibilities:
Prepares audit report and supporting schedules for major/large circuits and various program-specific audits (i.e., subscriptions, early birds, mid-week, etc)
Facilitates in-house automated/real-time audit, analysis, billing and collection. Partners with Sr Audit Analyst and leader in automating audits, establishing real-time audit templates and invoices, and keeping process documentation
Supports the settling of audit claims and estimating potential future audit claims by preparing audit claim re-calculations, what-if scenario analyses, and presentation decks for various stakeholders
Provides support to extract, analyze and format box office data for use by the in-house audit team, external auditing firm (Sargoy, Stein, Rosen and Shapiro) and/or other business partners
Basic Qualifications
Excellent logic, math and problem-solving skills and takes action to resolve issues
Professional skepticism (questioning mind) and challenges the status quo
Highly proficient in MS Excel – examples: vlookup, pivot table, sumifs, index-match, etc. – and other MS Office apps (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
Familiarity with SQL/Python/R/data engineering is a plus, but not required
Expresses written or verbal ideas, thoughts, or facts in a clear, convincing and organized way
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work well in a team environment through cross-function collaboration and finding common ground with various groups and individuals
Experience with handling large amounts of data and arriving at an actionable conclusion
Ability to multi-task by switching smoothly from one project or task to another
Knows how or where to obtain information; is resourceful
Supports productivity and morale of the team; is a team player
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business/analytical field of study
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years’ experience as an auditor with a top CPA firm or as an accountant/financial analyst in a large corporation
Experience with a motion picture studio or theatre chain is a plus, but not required
The hiring range for this position in CA is $84,600.00-$103,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
