The Compensation and Benefits group provides a full range of compensation and benefit services and solutions including: Internal Revenue Code compliance for retirement plans and executive compensation, M& A, due diligence, operational reviews and enhancements, and compensation benchmarking analysis.
This firm is seeking an ambitious, career-driven Senior Associate-level professional who is looking for an entrepreneurial, fast paced environment where teamwork is an integral part of our everyday practice. As part of the team, you will be responsible for work on a variety of consulting projects focusing on qualified retirement plans.
What Will You Be Doing?
As a Senior Associate within Retirement Plan and Benefist you will:
Provide consulting expertise to clients on matters such as plan design, merger and acquisition activity, fiduciary responsibility, and operational complianceConduct complex nondiscrimination testing for qualified retirement plans, including issues related to complex controlled groups with multiple qualified plansAssist in the identification of compliance issues in qualified retirement plans, calculate corrections and draft submissions for the IRS and DOL correction programsPerform tax research and draft summaries of conclusionsReview the calculations and work product of peers for accuracy and reasonableness, serving as a thorough reviewer of data and results, and draft correspondence to clientsInterpreting and applying laws, regulations, judicial precedent and other guidanceDraft memoranda detailing the application of complex tax and ERISA provisionsPerform and review work of staffAttend client calls to understand critical areas of importance and apply tax technical knowledge to specific client situationsCreate deliverables that are concise, complete and address the elements deemed critical by the clientMentor Associates when they are supporting the same projects by delegating appropriate tasks, ensuring they complete tasks efficiently and sharing best practicesBuild client relationships and demonstrate a working knowledge of client businesses; with opportunity to assume additional responsibility quicklyIdentify opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients by using working knowledge of client businessesBuild internal relationships with other members of the Federal Tax team and the greater A& M firmValue diversity of perspectives and creates opportunities for individuals to feel comfortable contributingAssist with business development, including add-on work by creating business development resources and proposal materials

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required; Juris Doctor, Masters in Tax, licensed CPA, or specialty compensation and benefits certification preferred.1-3 years of experience working with technical issues regarding qualified retirement plansStrong PC skills, including Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft ExcelHighly motivated self-starterMust be able to take active role as part of a teamExcellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to articulate complex information clearly and conciselyExcellent research, writing, and analytical skillsExperience with all Microsoft Office products (with an emphasis on Excel)Strong ability to explain complicated concepts in an understandable manner to a variety of audiencesCapacity to learn quickly and willingness to try new thingsFlexibility to engage concurrently on multiple complex projectsAbility to simultaneously work on several projects and effectively manage deadlinesHigh motivation to learn and growDetail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills
Compensation Statement
The annual base salary range is $85, 000 - $95, 000, commensurate with experience. In addition, A& M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
