Job Description:

As a Senior Associate Engineer, you will directly contribute to the concept, development, design of systems, components, and configurations for hydraulic excavator products and processes, including aftermarket support. You will be involved in the projects of New Product Introduction (NPI), New Source Introduction (NSI), New Market Introduction (NMI), and Annual Product Update (APU) in India, and manage the required engineering work to support those projects. Also you will be involved engineering maintenance work to support EXD production in CIPL, cost reduction activities, and continuous product improvement in the field to provide high-quality and competitive products for our customers. Additionally, you will be expected to investigate our customers in the field to understand their needs, expectations, and applications to develop competitive products in India.

You need to have deep collaboration with the global engineering team in Japan and China, product groups, operations, purchasing, and other stakeholders to support EXD products.

This position will be responsible for :

Design and development of complex engineering projects related to machine development, ensuring products provide superior customer value compared to the competition in terms of cost, features, performance, durability, quality, manufacturing, velocity, and serviceability.

Evaluate new products and competitive products and perform product design.

Coordinate and oversee the creation of designs and models, analytical work, drawing packages, design guides, and other engineering-related documents as needed.

Create new designs and resolve issues regarding the manufacturing or building sequences, ensuring design acceptance and manufacturing readiness.

Continuously improve products in the field to provide high-quality and competitive products for our customers.

Participate in the adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer-aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement.

Plan and improve engineering procedures and operations to make the product or process more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective.

Collaborate with all functional areas (marketing, purchasing, manufacturing) to provide a design solution that meets the requirements of the customer and dealer network.

Create and maintain the machine Bill of Materials 3D models.

Degree:

Requires an Engineering degree or equivalent experience.Effective Communications :

Superior skills of communication and collaboration

Strong ability to work closely with Design/Purchasing/Suppliers/Facility/Market team to generate cost-performance opportunities and put it on future machine development/NPI.

Experience with managing, fostering, and maintaining positive internal and external relationships.

Must demonstrate skill in negotiation, building consensus, and achieving compromise.

Technical Skills:

Deep technical experience and knowledge of hydraulic Excavator machine or components Level, layout performance, configuration, matching and calculations.

Hands on Experience on Creo Modeling , Machine Integration and Bill of Material creation

Knowledge and experience of new product introduction ( NPI ).

Knowledge and experience of engineering maintenance work.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems :

Could anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in design, manufacturing and testing areas.

Align with the product strategy, understanding complex technical problems and demonstrating the ability to develop creative solutions.

Location : Thiruvallur-RIOP CIPL Plant

Required Travel : Up to 20% domestic and international travel is required

ISE assignments are not available.
