The team you will be a part of
The Electrical Engineering team designs, develops or coordinates development of components, small systems, quality systems, processes or materials.
This role in summary
In this position the Engineer will play a key role as component global owner and will work with:
Electrical Architecture Teams,
EESI Subsystems (Simulation, Hardware, Wiring, Software etc.)
Platform teams (Cooking, Laundry, Dishwashing, Refrigeration)
on development, integration of electrical components into products to achieve product performance targets including complexity reduction, cost and quality improvements.
Your responsibilities will include
Manage projects according to Whirlpool Product Development process;
Define and manage components requirements within electrical system;
Translate product functions into component requirements;
Perform and analyze component and product level tests;
Presents results of the development during Technical Design Reviews;
Report project progress to the Project Team / Project Leaders;
Write specifications for new features, sensors, actuators and lighting modules. (Examples could include temperature sensors, humidity sensors, pressure sensors, heaters, water valves, speed sensors, optical devices, electro-mechanical actuators, etc.)
Own and contribute to roadmaps and strategic plans on the Components & Lighting space;
Document all findings through Design Guides and Application Guides;
Act as Project Manager to drive own activities and suppliers;
Pursue Intellectual Property opportunities;
Availability for travels (regional/international, once a year on average).
Minimum requirements
Electrical, Electronic (or similar) engineering Degree;
Solid experience (as leader of Mega/Major projects and/or technology development) in similar position;
Have experience of following tools (or similar) FMEA, DVP&R, A3s, Lean PD in previous projects;
Project management proven experience, develop Schedule, manage project activities, seek for alternative options/route with proper trades off identified, risk management, etc;
Practical knowledge of UL/IEC standards
6 Sigma / Opex tools knowledge and application;
Good communication and presentation skills;
Fluent in English (verbal and written);
Google office tools
Preferred skills and experiences
Master Degree in Electrical/Electronic or similar;
Project Management certification (PMP);
Presentation and communication skills;
Ability to work cross-functionally and globally;
Proficient in creating schedules and executing them independently.
Additional language (Portuguese, Spanish, German, Italian, Mandarin, etc);
