The Nevada County Sheriff's Office is seeking aSenior Administrative Analystto support the County’s Wayne Brown Correctional Facility (WBCF). This position will work closely with the Administrative Services Officer, as well as other command staff with long-term strategic projects for the Corrections Division. This is an advanced-level position where individuals, with little direct supervision, provide technical assistance with fiscal, budgetary, and policy issues. Furthermore, individuals are expected to be knowledgeable in and able to perform the full range of analytical duties in the office as required.
Desired skills for the qualified candidate include:
Project management, including operational and fiscal
Fiscal and budgeting experience
Grant experience
Power BI experience
Must be comfortable working in a jail setting
Must be hard-working, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work on your own
Can perform at a high level in Microsoft Excel
Communicating thoughtfully and optimally with County staff, elected officials and members of the public
A Senior Administrative Analyst is an integral part of the Sheriff's Office team whose mission is to assist higher-level management with budget preparation, fiscal management, contract administration and monitoring, special projects, and studies! This position is geared towards individuals who have a Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, economics or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years of experience comparable to Nevada County's classification of Administrative Analyst II. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted based on two years of experience for each year of education.

Examples of Duties
Some of the duties of the Senior Administrative Analyst include:
Support the implementation of the state mandated CalAIM Justice Initiative at the WBCF, which includes project management and contractor oversight.
Assist jail staff with data tracking, analytics, and presentations of correctional statistics related to correctional activities.
Oversight of the Jail Medical Contract, including monthly auditing of contractor staffing and billing.
Act as project coordinator for the multiple facilities related projects related to the Sheriff’s Office.
Support the Sheriff’s Office Fiscal team in monthly reconciliations of the Correctional division budgets as well as the annual budgeting processes.
Provide grant prospecting, writing, and fiscal compliance support.
Preparation and presentation of reports, resolutions, and ordinances before the Board of Supervisors.
Preparation of requests for proposals, contracts, and agreements as well as on-going oversight of county contractors.
Conduct special projects and administrative studies, preparing reports of findings and recommendations.
Complete data analytics and fiscal procedures in support of audits.
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, economics or a related field from an accredited college or university, and a minimum of three years of experience comparable to Nevada County's classification of Administrative Analyst II, which includes a broad range of analytical assignments. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted based on two years of experience for each year of education for up to two years of the required education.
