POSITION Title : Greenhouse Plant Production Technician

Location: West Fargo North Dakota 58078

Hours : Monday – Friday 6am or 7am -3:30 or 4:30pm

Duration : 6 months Wages : up to $22.50 per hour

DESCRIPTION : You will be a key player on the team responsible for the daily operations in our greenhouses. Your responsibilities will primarily consist of planting seeds, transplanting plants, harvesting/threshing, and daily cleaning of equipment and work areas. Operate company vehicle.

Learn greenhouse care of plant material by providing support for activities related to greenhouse and data collection.

Regularly perform greenhouse operations maintenance and upkeep: plants, clean floors, keep the work area tidy, organize supplies, and communicate any issues with coworkers and manager.

Seed Technicians are involved in all facets of seed production within a location.

Indoor seed processing and packaging activities may include receiving, scanning, cleaning, treating, sorting, counting, labeling or warehousing seed.

Outdoor activities may include planting, pollinating, note taking, data entry, hand harvest. May be responsible for preventive maintenance of equipment in assigned areas. RD positions may also include electronic data collection in field and laboratory settings utilizing PC and handheld data collection devices. Attend and participate in group and project meetings. Provide timely and frequent communication regarding any updates, changes, or issues that arise. Follow good sanitation practices and standard operating procedures and adhere to all safety and company policies. Interest in greenhouse operations and general work.

High attention to detail and prioritizes tasks efficiently.

Willing to receive Ag Worker Training and Pesticide Handler Training to work with or around pesticides. Strong organizational, observational, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a multi-project team environment and collaborate with colleagues to achieve goals, as well as work independently.

Work in a greenhouse, outdoor field, and laboratory setting, sometimes in physically demanding, adverse conditions. Subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and lifting materials. Knowledge of basic math skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

POSITION DUTIES RES PONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for daily plant care and completing tasks associated with seed production.

· This includes Planting, tissue sampling, transplanting, Harvesting, Cleaning, waste disposal and seed processing.

· Greenhouse maintenance i.e irrigation repair, general housekeeping

REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be able to work in hot greenhouse environment.

· Ability to lift 25lbs on occasion.

· Must be willing to work on Weekends and Holidays if needed.

Pay Details: $22.50 per hour
