Under general supervision of the Post Supervisor / District Supervisor(s) and/or Operations Manager - to Patrol assigned area(s): Safeguard assigned area(s) including buildings, equipment, property, and personnel; check areas for fire, trespassers, reporting ALL safety hazards and improper lighting, and unsecured locks; note any security irregularities and respond appropriately.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 years of age.High School graduate and/or GED equivalent.Ability to obtain a State Guard card.Ability to pass a State and Federal background check through the California Department of Justice (DOJ) AND Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).Complete a 40-hour course of BSIS required training.**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Security Officer will patrol the assigned areas in a consistent and safe manner always following the tenants of safe operation. Officers will fully investigate any breach in security and report their action and results as directed in the guidelines. Visually patrol buildings, building grounds/facility/property, and parking lots in the designated vehicle to:
Observe unusual behaviorPreserve order and protect propertyRespond to alarm responses - answer alarms and investigate disturbances.Perform locks/unlocks of buildings or facilities and check doors/gates.Conduct FormForce reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, incident/injuries, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences and ALL safety hazards and improper lighting. Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons and escort emergency vehicles to the incident location on the lease/property.Officers are to be Highly Visible while on patrol and observe, monitor cameras located in the Security office and control gates at the main entrance when necessary.
