The Section Manager for Interconnection & Advisory Services will lead the teams responsible for providing our current interconnection and advisory services as well as development and execution of future offerings. Support is provided from pre-application engagement to site or fleet owners of all levels of sophistication seeking to electrify light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles, including ensuring strong internal coordination and a positive customer experience for customers installing electric vehicle charging equipment and/or participating in E-Mobility's programs, particularly those requiring new load service requests and grid reinforcement.
Develop deep understanding of support tools and capabilities needed by a diverse mix of site owners and fleets seeking to transition to electric with a focus on delivering a positive, seamless customer experience. Work closely with other internal teams to proactively identify ways to optimize and improve the EV charging customer journey and accelerate the interconnection process while supporting a team to implement related changes.
Lead team strategy to expand Con Edison E-Mobility pre-electrification Advisory Service offerings in coordination with existing program, strategy, and business development leads.
Engage directly with E-Mobility customers and stakeholders on technical interconnection topics or project-related questions.
Oversee successful implementation of additional services, including business oversight of any IT-related implementation.
Drive continual, customer-focused improvement of processes and oversee documentation of Advisory Services.
Work closely with internal Energy Services and Customer Engineering teams to streamline processes and procedures, optimize customer experience, and address project-specific issues.
Educate business development teams, program managers, and program participants on technical interconnection topics related to EV charging stations.
Collaborate with program teams to anticipate, identify, and lead innovation around program or EV market/technology changes and needs that could impact interconnection processes and preparation of the grid for EV loads.
Participate and work effectively in cross-functional teams responsible for department initiatives that may arise from time to time.
Recruit, develop, and retain an engaged and diverse workforce.
Actively support the professional development of the Interconnection & Advisory Services team.
Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
Ensure that safe work practices are followed, and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of work experience 2 years energy, utility, fleet, commercial customer, or related work experience. or
Master's Degree and 6 years of work experience 2 years energy, utility, fleet, commercial customer, or related work experience.
Preferred Education/Experience
Master's Degree Degree in business, engineering or sustainability disciplines and utility work experience or project management, engineering and/or knowledge of utility new business processes.Relevant Work Experience
Experience managing a team and developing its members. Required
Demonstrated ability to manage tense, complex, or technical customer issues in a calm, thorough, and professional manner. Required

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Required
Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills. Required
Technical understanding of Con Edison's electric system. Preferred
Experience with or knowledge of utility new business interconnection processes and operations. Preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of EV charging station interconnection procedures. Preferred
Demonstrated experience interfacing with commercial customers and/or fleets. Preferred
Project management experience at a utility company in electric operations or engineering. Preferred
Experience in site acquisition and development for EV or clean energy projects in Con Edison territory. Preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of EV charging station operations and economics. Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
Driver's License RequiredOther Physical Demands
Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
