The NYU Grossman School of Medicine Department of Radiology invites applications for Section Chief of the Thoracic Imaging Section.

The Thoracic Imaging Section consists of 16 fellowship trained main campus radiologists including a mixture of junior, mid-career and seasoned faculty. Among the section members are widely published clinical and basic researchers, leaders in national and international societies such as the STR and Fleischner Society, and participants on committees defining cardiothoracic imaging guidelines and policy.
NYULH boasts a storied pulmonary service (one of the oldest in the country), a very large lung and heart transplant service, a vibrant cardiothoracic surgery service, a lung cancer screening program, and a nationally recognized cancer center and institute, all providing a wealth of clinical material for research and teaching, and a source of collaborative colleagues. Within the department there is a strong division performing research in AI and in technology advances in imaging and clinical care. Currently the editors of RADIOLOGY and AJR are departmental faculty.
The large radiology residency, acknowledged as one of the best in the country, ranked #4 in the most recent Doximity Survey. The Section offers fellowships in thoracic imaging. It provides outstanding training for medical students, radiology residents, fellows, and is a recognized strength in continuing medical education.
A successful candidate will have expertise in thoracic imaging, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to manage an outstanding research team. Prior administrative experience and demonstrated commitment to training and education are highly valued. The section chief reports directly to the Chair of Radiology.
NYULH Radiology is an expansive department which reaches out to millions in the NY metropolitan area, with many ambulatory sites, and several hospitals, including Bellevue Hospital.
Salary ranges between $330,000 - $550,000 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience. NYU offers a generous benefits package.
