This key position configures and operates sawsand planer machines to produce parts according to specifications andKanban card requirements. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Saw andPlaner Operator must be a team player and committed to delivering onlythe best quality to our customers! Responsibilities Promotes Safety asthe Number One Priority of all OMG employees. Sets up the Saws andPlaners, observes operation, and inspects work product to ensuremachining conforms to specifications. Reads job order for product andjob specifications such as calibrations, dimensions, tolerances, partsto be run, or special manufacturing instructions. Selects and adjuststhe controls for the Saw Cutting and Planer Equipment as well as thecutting tools, to meet the specifications as they specify on theproduction run sheet, including speeds and feed rates. Performs routinelubrication and preventative maintenance inspections as required.Observes all safety rules. Performs routine and preventative machinemaintenance. Assists other Saw and Planer Operators to set up themachines and prepare and ready the finished boards for the Punch Presseswhich stamp out the Cortex plugs Maintains a neat and well-organizedwork area. Other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma orequivalent. Experience with the safety requirements & safe workpractices of woodworking equipment Ability to perform tool changes forsaws and planers. Capable of using standard tools and measurementdevices such as micrometers and rulers. Ability to interpret safetyinstructions, job orders, quality specifications, and other relateddocuments. Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong math andmechanical reasoning skills. Ability to contribute as part of a team.Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands tofinger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with handsand arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift and/or move up to 50pounds. Good close vision and depth perception skills. Positiveattitude, good judgment and excellent time management skills. Strongsense of responsibility and ownership! Salary Range Starting \$18/hour
