Make a difference in the lives of Minnesotans.

The work you’ll do is more than just a job. Join the talented, engaged and inclusive workforce dedicated to creating a better Minnesota.

Join the 2,500+ professionals of Minnesota IT Services (https://mn.gov/mnit/) (MNIT) who connect Minnesotans to services that will improve their lives. This position serves our partners at Minnesota’s largest state agency, the Department of Human Services (DHS). The MNIT DHS team supports complex and varied technical needs, including systems that provide health care coverage, deliver child protection and welfare services, and provide support for Minnesotans with special needs including mental illness, chemical dependencies, and physical or developmental disabilities.

As a Salesforce Digital Experience (DX) Designer at our organization, you will play a pivotal role in transforming the service delivery of the Department of Human Services (DHS) and enhancing the public‘s experience with government services. In this dynamic position, you will collaborate with end-users, business partners, architects, and technologists to design human-computer interactions within the Salesforce platform, focusing primarily on optimizing the licensing experience for DHS partners and providers. Your responsibilities include developing strategic plans, detailed guidelines, flows, design styling, and specifications to optimize Salesforce usability for end-users.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience integrating design into product and agile ways of working, so that solutions can be co-designed and tested with end-users when possible. This will help us deliver better experiences through evidence-based, user-centered design. Ensuring conformance to accessibility, equity, and inclusion standards for the State of Minnesota is a key aspect, making the Salesforce platform usable and accessible for all. You will collaborate with the digital experience team and Salesforce product team to develop, implement, and promote UX research and design best practices at both the product and enterprise levels. Stay informed of policy or statutory changes, evaluate their impacts on client populations, and assess the usability and conformance of existing and future interfaces.

As a highly collaborative and largely self-directed professional, you will proactively seek feedback, coach others on the value and applications of human-centered design, and regularly engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to improve operational effectiveness and excellence.
