Job Summary:
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing and enforcing Array's safety policies and procedures on a day-to-day basis to ensure safety and environmental compliance. You will work closely with employees and stakeholders at our Albuquerque site to identify potential safety hazards and develop solutions to mitigate them. This role reports to the site HSE Manager and focuses on shop floor level execution of policy. This role requires flex scheduling to support 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift employees.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations within a manufacturing environment. This includes implementing safety programs, conducting inspections, providing training, and investigating incidents to promote a safe workplace.
Collaborate with management and employees to develop and maintain safety protocols, emphasizing the prevention of accidents and occupational hazards. Knowledge of OSHA standards, risk assessment, and effective communication skills are essential for this role.
Investigate near misses, accidents, and incidents to identify and assist in determining the root cause. Provide recommended corrective actions and input all near-misses, accidents, and incident data into EHS tracking software.
Ability to perform safety risk assessments and subsequent mitigation of hazards.
Follow up with the outside occupational health clinic to monitor employees limited duty and lost time accidents for return to duty and communicate with staff about their statuses.
Conduct regular site safety walk-throughs, reporting and coordinating the correction of safety hazards, ensuring compliance with site safety standards, including PPE usage, and address any employee questions or comments.
Input and track safety work orders for completion in the HSE software or related safety management systems.
Monitor and inspect on-site safety equipment.
Assist the HSE Director and Manager with the development and revision of site-specific safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Conduct emergency response and fire safety drills.
Monitor environmental compliance, including storm drains, aluminum chip accumulation, and waste streams.
Provide safety mentoring when needed to team leads and supervisors.
Will conduct and manage safety committee meetings on various shifts.
Periodically check and document emergency equipment and machine guarding.
Monitor compliance with the Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) program owners to inspect PIT sign-offs and daily inspections, address deficiencies in reporting or repair.
Assist in conducting JHAs/Risk Assessments and periodic updates of the same.
Monitor compliance with all Production Work Instructions (WI) to ensure that work is conducted per JHAs/Risk assessment elements.
Develop and provide elements of safety training to all employees with the HSE manager.
Implement and assist the HSE Manager with the safety committee program.
Periodically evaluate new PPE with the HSE manager.
Assist production staff with PPE inspections.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
Assist in scheduling outside contractors for first aid and CPR training.

Perform other duties assigned.
The qualifications you must have:
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or another related field
5+ years of HSE work experience in a manufacturing or construction environment
3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office
Ability to speak read/comprehend instructions given in English

Our preferred qualifications:
HSE certifications or degree (ASP/CSP) and emergency response experience
Prior OSHA training along with applicable certifications
Strong proficiency in Excel
Deadline-driven with strong multi-tasking skills, strong interpersonal, decision-making and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to write/read/speak Spanish
Intermediate project management skills
Physical Demands:
Ability to work inside or outside in all weather conditions
