JOB SUMMARY
The Program Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who uses the BSWH nursing professional practice model to coordinate programs and goals in order to provide efficient operation of their respective program/center. Serves as a liaison to assigned staff. Coordinates daily activities to ensure maintenance of records and files, coordinates services, resolves problems, and improves quality of patient care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Provides coordination and promotion for programs, including supervision of the orientation and continuing education for all program personnel.
Serves as a liaison among the staff, advisory committee, and facility administration.
Participates and/or coordinates the planning and review of the program each year.
Designs, carries out, and reports evaluation of program effectiveness.
Is a member of the Advisory Committee and attends all meetings.
Collects and processes all outcomes information in a timely and accurate manner.
Implements ongoing Quality Improvement activities to meet standards of any applicable regulating agencies.
Initiates and maintains correspondence and records for the program. Ensures maintenance of medical records and files. Ensures accurate entry of patient charges, reconciliation of accounts, payroll records and reviews monthly financial summaries
Investigates, resolves, and documents the resolution of patient complaints concerning services provided by the program.
Other duties as assigned.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Knowledge and expertise of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations; standards and guidelines of certifying and accrediting bodies; hospital and department/unit standards, protocols, policies and procedures governing the provision of nursing care applicable to the area of assignment.
Knowledge of medical terminology; methods and practices of health promotion, risk reduction, illness and disease prevention and management; medications and drugs, common dosages, their physical and physiological effects, and possible adverse reactions.
Knowledge of medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
Must be able to communicate thoughts clearly, both verbally and in writing.
Social skills to interact with a wide-range of constituencies.
Must have critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to observe changes in the medical condition of patients and effectively communicate these changes to other nursing staff members and physicians/providers.
Ability to provide age-specific, quality, patient-centered care to all patients through the nursing process and standards of nursing practice with care and respect for the diversity of human experience and to develop, evaluate, implement and, as necessary, modify a patient care plan to meet the needs of separate patients.
General computer skills, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION - Bachelor's
MAJOR - Nursing
EXPERIENCE - 3 Years of Experience
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
