They advocate for members by reviewing, processing and interfacing with providers when medical service requests are made, ensuring smooth, accurate and timely processing of clinical documentation. Quantum Health's best-in-class training program when combined with prior direct care nursing experience makes Pre-Certification Nurses incredibly well-rounded Healthcare Warriors.What you'll doAssess and review all requests for inpatient medical services requiring clinical review against Quantum Health's adopted clinical review criteria.Coordinate integrated health management services for each patient and provide benefit and health information to patients, caregivers, providers and facilities so they can make informed health decisions.Facilitate the discharge process during pre-service review and coordinate with other clinical work teams.Redirect out-of-network service requests to in-network providers to ensure maximum benefit to members, when possible.Research vague or questionable procedures and present findings to the Chief Medical/Physician Peer Reviewer for opinion; Provide timely notification of potential non-certifications.Identify potential high-risk/high-cost cases and chronic condition cases and make appropriate recommendations to Case Management.Coordinate with providers, facility and internal partners regarding outcomes.Effectively translate and communicate clinical messages to members with empathy and patience.Provide monitoring and oversight of non-clinical staff activities and provide clinical support during business hours.All other duties as assigned.What you'll needEducation / Licensure: Active license in good standing as aRegistered Nurse(RN) in the state of Ohio required.2+ years of clinical experience with direct patient care in a hospital setting required.Strong administrative/technical skills; Comfort working on a PC using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), IM/video conferencing (Teams & Zoom), and telephones efficiently.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
