About RN Neuro Intermediate Care PRN

  About the unit

  The Neuro Intermediate Care Unit is a 27 bed, Neuro focused intermediate care unit with emphasis on stroke, neuro surgical, craniotomies, EVDs, and neuro-intervention. Stroke Rapid Response Team. We are a fast-paced unit with a significant cohesive group taking care of the critically ill.

  Scope of work

  N urse s , under the ANA scope of practice , utilize the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. N urse s provide quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health's policies and procedures. Applies the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and discharge needs of patient/family/significant other. Partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care. Demonstrates knowledge of and competently performs technical procedures and uses equipment properly. Documents in the patient record in a timely , accurate and concise manner. Develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.

  Qualifications

  Associates in Nursing Required

  Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years

  External candidates are required to have a minimum of 15 months of clinical experience (1 year clinical experience plus completion of nursing orientation) required. External candidate must successfully complete a competency assessment provided by nursing education required

  Internal candidate with less than 2 years of clinical experience must submit a letter of recommendation from their current Nurse Manager

  MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required

  AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required upon hire

  AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months

  Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
