The Underwriter Development Program (UDP) is a structured 10-month program within DCS. The program provides the appropriate experience, development, education, and exposure needed to produce future underwriters for the firm.
Dealer Commercial Services (DCS) is a commercial lending unit within the Consumer & Community Banking - Auto Finance line of business. We specialize in wholesale lending to new car dealers in the US. We provide floorplan, real estate, acquisition and commercial loans, along with cash management, derivatives and wealth management.
DCS is organized into four underwriting centers located in Chicago, IL, Plano TX, Columbus, OH, and Tampa FL. The Analyst position will sit at one of the 4 locations. Analysts will work with DCS Underwriters, Credit Executives, and COO/Product Partners who cover a variety of processes to provide a range of experiences.
Job Responsibilities:
Learning how to assess the business model and financial strength of a client
Working on financial models to support financing transactions
Assisting in the completion of credit approval memos
Learning how to identify appropriate credit structures to support risk-based decisions
Developing an understanding of the full breadth of J.P. Morgan products and service offerings
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience post-college graduation; experience in financial services, accounting, or a related field is a plus
Completed BA/BS degree required at the time of application (Business, Finance & Accounting preferred; all majors considered)
Superior analytical, accounting, leadership, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
Keen attention to detail and creative mindset
Proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Exhibit sound judgement and the ability to work as a team player
