Description:
The ideal candidate is a positive, accountable team player with an understanding of financials within a media production environment. The Revenue Manager will work closely with other stakeholders to provide accurate yearly and monthly business forecasting and assist in managing both revenue and margin for each event production’s budget to ensuring finances are on track to meet and exceed forecasted targets.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with creating, tracking and actualizing client budgets for accurate revenue/cost forecasting. Responsible for reviewing purchase orders, contracts, quotes, invoices
Review agreements for accuracy of terms negotiated
Actualize production jobs with Event Production team members and coordinate the process of invoices based on required contractual quote obligations
Approve invoices to adhere to contracts, agreements, cost estimates and fiscal plans
Facilitate regular business meeting with various managers to ensure invoices are out in a timely fashion, costs are allocated with accuracy and information is provided for forecast deadlines.
Co-ordinate with Event Production Managers and Account Executives as well as operational units during the planning process to ensure information is accurate and includes reasonable assumptions Provides various ad hoc analysis as needed
Assist in developing workflow solutions to better increase overall performance
Identify appropriate cost efficiencies across properties
Work closely with various departments including finance, new business development, legal, account management, logistics, fleet and operations
Assist in Request For Proposal (RFPs), budgeting and resource planning for new projects and transitions to assigned production managers.
Assist in scoping, budgeting and resource planning for new projects and transition to assigned production managers or account executives.
Participate in annual budget and long range financial planning process including Support financial planning and annual efforts, pacing and reporting, identifying risks and opportunities.
Maintain accurate base lines in yearly budget (revenue and margins), assist with monthly forecasts and explain monthly variance reports with production managers and account executives.
Educate event personnel in reading and interpreting financial reports.
Required Qualifications
Completion of post-secondary education in a related field
2-3 years in similar finance and / or accounting role
Prior experience in media, entertainment and/or business, finance preferred
Strong and effective negotiating skills
Superior organizational skills, detail oriented with the ability to multi task and prioritize work to meet deadlines
Strong sense of urgency and ability to be flexible
Demonstrated ability to execute and follow-through
Demonstrated initiative, self- starter and accountable
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work as a team member
Excellent Customer Service Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a fast paced in-house environment
Efficient in using Word, Excel and a strong knowledge in computer operations
