Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Revenue Cycle Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will perform a variety of standard, recurring, and moderately complex financial analyses to support revenue cycle operational business needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators, metrics, and financial opportunities for designated revenue cycle departments. Collaboration with revenue cycle leaders and stakeholders is essential to improve financial performance based on analytic findings.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed analysis of financial and revenue cycle performance to identify trends, patterns, and root causes.
Conduct regular root cause analysis of relevant financial transactions for assigned departments.
Monitor key performance indicators for assigned areas and explore reasons for performance fluctuation and deterioration.
Prepare summary findings of analysis for department leadership review.
Examine historical and projected financial data to provide stakeholders with valuable information for operational decisions.
Utilize a strong understanding of revenue cycle applications, operational workflows, and regulatory policies for analytic evaluations.
Cultivate internal relationships to understand department workflows and engage with revenue cycle managers and directors on improvement opportunities identified through data analysis.
Analyze, prepare, and coordinate distribution of various financial reports for internal Revenue Cycle use and as required for external constituents.
Maintain various financial databases and records for the reporting of financial data.
Develop and manipulate large data sets.
Provide analytics for and support special projects as needed.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Required).Licenses and Certifications:
HFMA - Certified Rev Cycle Rep (CRCR) preferred.Experience:
Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
Prior experience in revenue management, patient financial services, and/or health information systems preferred.
1-2 years of statistical analysis experience.
1-2 years Hospital Billing experience.
Knowledge/Skills & Abilities:
Ability to analyze and develop solutions to complex problems.
Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions.
Ability to manage, organize, prioritize, multi-task, and adapt to changing priorities.
Effective communication of complex concepts in written and verbal formats, including summarizing data and presenting results.
Establishment and maintenance of effective working relationships.
Knowledge of hospital and physician revenue cycle methodology.
Knowledge of hospital information systems, including Epic.
Knowledge of business analytical practices and methodologies.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including strong proficiency in Excel.
