The Revenue Accounting and AR Manager will be part of AEM's Finance team andis responsible for ensuring the accurate reporting of revenue and relevantaccounting data, performing technical accounting research related torevenue, ensuring compliance of the Company's revenue accountingpolicies, and providing leadership and training for the three accountingprofessionals reporting into this role.
This individual will work closely with senior management in CustomerSuccess, Sales, Marketing, Legal, and cross-functionally withinFinance. In addition, they will work closely with external auditors tofacilitate the year-end audits, as well as on an ad hoc basis to resolvecomplex accounting issues associated with revenue accounting. The candidatewill be self-motivated with the ability to provide solutions for issuesidentified. The successful candidate is a competent individual withintegrity, accountability, strong interpersonal skills, and a teamplayer. The position requires someone who is "hands on," flexible,hard-working, and can work well with time constraints.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of Revenue Accounting andBillings/Accounts Receivable.Apply revenue recognition policy to contractsManage Project to Cash and Order to Cash while driving process improvementsacross the business.Execute and manage the monthly close process for revenue-related areas(revenue, accounts receivable, unbilled receivables, deferredrevenue, deferred COGS etc) in NetSuite, including account reconciliations.Monitor relevant US GAAP developments to ensure the company's revenuerecognition policies and procedures are compliant.Perform contract analysis reviews and document reviews following ASC 606Accounting Standards.Prepare technical revenue accounting memos in compliance with US GAAP.Perform gross margin analysis and assist in analyzing budget variances.Manage calculation of commissions for Sales teamManage Avalara (AvaTax and CertCapture) and Sales Use tax compliance andstate filings.Support AOP and budgeting activities.Work diligently on finding solutions to critical issues, lead specialprojects as needed, and drive issues/projects to successful completion.Mentor direct reports to establish goals and objectives for each year andmonitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development ofstaff.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting.10+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, preferablyin a combination of public accounting and corporate accounting (preferablywith private equity-backed companies).Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP),the ability to research technical accounting literature and apply suchguidance to new and existing transactions.Five or more years of supervisory experience preferred.CPA or MBA preferred.Highly proficient in Excel.Experience with NetSuite and system generated revenue arrangements a plusSelf-starter, with ability to work independently and remotely.Ability to manage globally dispersed teams.Experience with both software development and manufacturing environments.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

US Compensation Range: A reasonable estimate of the current salary range forthis position is $80,000 - $115,000 per year. Please note that thesalary information is a general guideline only. AEM considers a wide range offactors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of theposition, candidate's work experience, education, licensure andcertifications, key skills as well as other market and businessconsiderations when extending an offer. The disclosed range estimate has notbeen adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with thelocation at which the position may be filled.
