Must be enrolledin final year of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.Certification(s): Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers from theAmerican Heart AssociationJob Highlights:Performs pre-use testing, set up, disassembly, cleaning, reprocessingand basic maintenance for various respiratory care equipment and oxygendelivery devices under the supervision of an RT.In an Ambulatory setting, performs simple spirometry and respiratoryeducation/care coordination under the supervision of an RT.In the Inpatient setting, may perform basic respiratory care under thesupervision of an RT, including but not limited to: airway clearancetechniques, home O2 set-up, assisting with transports, assisting withprone positioning, HAPI prevention activities, tracheostomy care,assisting with retaping of ETT and suctioning.Follows departmental or organizational practices and procedures that minimizerisk of harm to patients, foster communication, support effective teamworkand ensure system effectiveness.
