We are seeking a Field Research Technicianwho will play an integral role by preparing, installing, monitoring, andtroubleshooting field research equipment. Our ideal Field ResearchTechnician has experience in conducting and managing research, fieldassessments, and analysis of building systems. You will use your fieldresearch knowledge and experience to assist energy efficiency andelectrification projects to support understanding the impacts ofdecarbonization strategies. Primary responsibilities Conduct primaryand secondary research related to energy and sustainability in buildingsPrepare, install, monitor and troubleshoot field research equipment inhomes and commercial buildings Set up and monitor network andcommunications devices for remote, online data collection Assist withbasic data processing and analytics Assist with communicating results inwritten, graphical, and presentation formats Qualifications Desiredskills and experience Experience with mechanical and electrical toolsand a strong desire to tinker and problem solve. Experience with eGauge,Hobo, or Campbell Scientific equipment a plus. Scientific, technical, orengineering background preferred Knowledge of or ability to quicklylearn wireless and internet communications for remote data access andtransfer. Knowledge of setting up cloud-based services a plus. Generalknowledge of building construction and mechanical (heating/cooling)systems. Fundamental knowledge of energy concepts.
