Summary:

　　Meta Reality Labs is looking for an intern with experience in Machine Learning in the domain of articulated object tracking and pose regression to help us improve human-machine interactions in AR/VR. You will explore and implement algorithms to utilize sensor streams to track the states of the user and/or device. You will work with world-leading collaborators and mentors in the AR/VR & HCI fields.Our internship is twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.

　　Required Skills:

　　Research Science Intern – Glove Sensing & Tracking (PhD) Responsibilities:

　　Plan and test on framework to train on multi-modal signal data, including but not limited to imageries, pressure, IMUs etc. Try to utilize state-of-the-art models such as transformers to effectively extract features from their representative data types.

　　Explore and design explainable pose manifold representation (e.g. VAE).

　　Collaborate with other researchers, engineers, and user experience researchers to prototype hardware and software solutions, and run experiments to advance the project.

　　Work with leading academic researchers in the field. The work should result in publishable research that appears in top-tier journals or at leading international conferences.

　　Minimum Qualifications:

　　PhD candidate in machine learning, computer science, robotics, engineering, or related field.

　　Excellent research skills involving defining problems, exploring solutions, and analyzing and presenting results.

　　Proficiency in Python, Pytorch, or Matlab.

　　Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

　　Interpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.

　　Experience with SOTA machine learning e.g. ViT, semi/self-supervised learning.

　　Experience with multiple sensor signals (e.g. CV, IMUs, pressure sensor, EMGs etc. and their real time applications).

　　Experience with hand tracking or human body tracking.

　　Publication experience in NeurIPS, AAAI, CVPR, ICCV, IROS, ICRA etc.
