Research Coordinator (Speech Neural Systems Lab)SHRS-Commu Science & Disorders - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (23009140) The Speech Neural Systems Lab at the University of Pittsburgh (https://snslab.pitt.edu) is seeking a full-time research program coordinator. This position is for one year and is ideal for a candidate with some previous human subjects research background, strong organizational and communication skills, experience with data management and analysis, and excellent attention to detail.
The candidate will join a cutting-edge, multidisciplinary research lab in the Communication Science and Disorders department at the University of Pittsburgh. The Speech Neural Systems lab combines computational, informatics, and experimental methods to understand the neural systems underlying speech planning and production. Opportunities exist to contribute to multiple collaborative projects.
Job SummaryExecutes protocol-related research procedures, activities, outreach, and education. Manages a complex program or study or multiple programs and studies. Collects and analyzes data and complies with all policies and regulations. Recommends improvements to policy and procedure.
Essential Functions Helps to organize day-to-day research operations in the Speech Neural Systems labAnalyzes research data and prepares figures and summary reportsAssists with the creation of experimental protocols, scripts, and stimuliConfidentially manages research and personnel dataAssists with development, revision, and renewal of IRB protocols and consent formsAssists with grant submissions and manuscript preparationProfessionally communicates with participants, research team, and university personnelHelps to develop and document lab procedures, guidelines, and best practicesHelps to onboard and provide basic training for new research assistants
Physical Effort
Individual will need to be able to communicate effectively via telephone and use standard computer systems. No physical effort is needed as far as lifting or carrying. Individual will be sitting often.
