The laboratory of Dr. Huaiying Zhang (https://www.bio.cmu.edu/laboratories/zhang/) in the Department of Biological Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking candidates for a full-time Research Associate I in cancer cell biology/biophysics research. The lab combines genetic manipulation with live cell imaging and optogenetic control to study how proteins, RNAs and DNAs are organized in space and time in cancer cell nucleus. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical and administrative support for the lab. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment.Your core responsibilities will include:Designing experiments and protocols.Performing research following protocols and procedures.Identifying problems and obstacles to progress; developing strategies to solve problems.Researching and documenting information by compiling and maintaining accurate and detailed recordsOverseeing and managing lab maintenance, including compliance with chemical and lab safety regulations
