About Registered Nurse Same Day Surgery

  Job Description:

  The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.

  Same Day surgery is made up of both pre- and post-surgical care. Shifts are 9, 10, or 12-hours and shift start times vary.

  We are open Monday through Friday 5am to midnight

  We are closed weekends and holidays

  We have a great culture of teamwork and friendship. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:1 in pre-op and 1:3 in post-op. We have a fast-paced environment with quick turn-over times with patients with a very small window to make a connection before we move on the next patient.

  Hours : 36 hours, 3- 12 hour shifts in pre-op

  Minimum Qualifications

  Current RN License that allows you to practice in the state of Utah.

  Basic Life Support (BLS)

  Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

  Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

  (Applicants must either have required additional certifications (e.g. ACLS, PALs, NRP) upon hire or must obtain them within a specified timeframe determined by service line and department guidelines.)

  Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  Basic computer skills.

  RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within five years of their start date.

  Preferred Qualifications

  Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

  Same Day Surgery RN experience.

  The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  $33.19 - $49.25
