  Sign-on bonus: 10k to 20k available

  Department: Ortho Trauma

  Schedule: FullTime Nights; Three 12 hour shifts per week; E/3rd weekend; 7pm to 7:30am

  Hospital: Ascension St. Vincent

  Location: Indianapolis, IN

  We are a step down unit from ICU...Once stable in ICU the patients will come to our unit to finish their rehab or stay.

  We see patients with musculoskeletal issues like broken or fractured bones, arthritis, osteoporosis, joint replacements, and other injuries and diseases. You will work as an integral part of the orthopedic team working alongside the orthopedic surgeon; and ensuring that patients on the road to recovery are properly regaining strength and range of motion.We get patients from ER, ICU transfers, elective ortho surgeries from PACU, and direct admits.

  Responsibilities

  Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

  Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.

  Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

  Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

  Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

  Requirements

  Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

  Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

  Education:

  Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.Additional Preferences

  Previous ER or Trauma experience.
