　　JOB DETAILS FOR RN REGISTERED NURSE – CORRECTIONAL FACILITY:

　　Provide direct and indirect nursing care to inmates / patients under the direction of the supervising registered nurse and correctional facility

　　Collaborate with physicians and other health care providers; takes independent action within professional preparation and legal limits to maintain order

　　Supervise the conduct of inmates / patients to protect and maintain the safety of persons and property

　　Plan and implement nursing care including administration of medication, therapeutic agents, treatments, disease preventions and restorative measures ordered by a physician

　　Assists physicians with medical and / or minor surgical procedures

　　Perform assessments and ongoing monitoring of inmate / patient physical and psychosocial status

　　Evaluate effectiveness of nursing care and treatment regimen; collaborate with physicians and other health care providers

　　Provide clinical supervision of other nursing staff to ensure quality patient care; document nursing care in medical records

　　Ensure safety of inmates / patients by monitoring work areas for safety and cleanliness

　　Administer first aid in emergencies

　　CREDENTIALS REQUIRED FOR THE RN REGISTERED NURSE:

　　Valid Registered Nurse – RN License

　　1 year of RN experience within the last 2 years

　　Must be eligible to work in the United States

　　BLS (Basic Life Support) issued American Heart Association or American Red Cross
