  GENERAL SUMMARY

  The coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.

  Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.

  Effectively communicates with the health care team.

  Demonstrates clinical competence.

  May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position, works independently and in collaboration with principal investigator when appropriate.

  Triage occurs via the telephone or through direct patient contact.

  Assesses patient complaints, and advises patients, according to established protocols.

  Directs patient to appropriate care area upon completion of triage evaluation.

  Documents assessment and advice in EHR.

  Refers patient to home health care and community agencies

  Location: Highland Park, MI: Ruth Ellis Center. A school-based linked site.

  The Ruth Ellis School-Based site offers primary and behavioral healthcare to the LGBTQ youth community, as well as support services for at-risk LGBTQ youth. The center promotes an inclusive environment where the LGBTQ youth and their families are safe and supported.

  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation.

  Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty.

  Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.

  Pediatric experience preferred.

  CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED

  Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.

  Current BLS or ACLS per Henry Ford Health policy.
