JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Registered Dietitian provides nutrition servicesto the residents (members) of WVHK, a long-term care setting.Responsibilities include regularly assessing member\'s nutritionalstatus; developing and implementing nutrition care plans; participatingin interdisciplinary care conferences; ensuring compliance with stateand federal regulations; providing individualized or group nutritioneducation; participating in performance improvement efforts; andproviding support and guidance to Nutrition & Dining Services managementstaff. Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current healthplans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and providenutritional counseling. Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules ofgood nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring toimprove their quality of life. Advise patients and their families onnutritional principles, dietary plans, diet modifications, and foodselection and preparation. Incorporate patient cultural, ethnic, orreligious preferences and needs in the development of nutrition plans.Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determinenutritional needs and diet restrictions of patient or client. Inspectmeals served for conformance to prescribed diets and standards ofpalatability and appearance. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE ANDQUALIFICATIONS: This position requires that the incumbent hold a currentDietitian certification in the State of Wisconsin or be eligible toobtain such a certification by the date of appointment. Additionalrequired and preferred qualifications that will be assessed at a laterstage in the selection process are experience: - Performing dieteticfunctions; and - Using the Resident Assessment Instrument; and - Usingcomputer programs and/or - Collaborating with multidisciplinary teammembers; and/or - Problem solving; and/or - Providing dietetic servicesin a long-term care facility Employment in this position is contingentupon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.
