  This position is a leader doer role within the Federal Group. It includes management of a team of project managers responsible for delivery of multi-discipline building design and renovation projects within schedule and budget. Design efforts include all phases of design from concept through basis of design, construction documents and specifications, meeting client mission requirements. The leader role also includes performance of project management responsibilities within the team with a goal of 80% billability.

  Reporting directly to the Regional Operations Lead and coordinating with the National Director of Project Management, this position also requires interface with Client Leadership and the Portfolio Operations Group to support future sales efforts. This role will be performed in California, in connection with the Jacobs, Irvine or San Diego office.

  Director responsibilities include:

  Promote BeyondZero and safety programs to create an incident- and injury-free culture.

  Provide leadership to a group of Project Managers including best practices, mentoring, and communication skills.

  Manage work assignments for assigned staff, and project assignments for technical staff in collaboration with stakeholders.

  Optimize resource distribution across projects to provide best practices for value and expertise.

  Act as the hiring manager for project managers within the regional area in coordination with operations and portfolio operations leaders.

  Develop employees to their highest potential through skill development, experiential opportunities, and financial understanding.

  Coordinate across regions to optimize resource billability.

  Approve timesheets and expenses for aligned staff.

  Coordinate with Regional Directors and Leadership to promote consistent, high quality project delivery.

  This is a hybrid position with the expectation of in office attendance averaging two days per week.

  Project Management responsibilities include:

  Deliver large and/or multiple building projects, on time, within budget and to agreed specifications.

  Lead multi-discipline design team in project execution.

  Function as the single point of contact with clients and coordinate with internal departments to address all aspects of project delivery.

  Create the project plan and recommended project approach, and present to leadership regularly on project progress, financials, schedule and staffing status.

  Coordinate with Local Quality Manager to ensure project deliverables satisfy project requirements.

  Facilitate communication, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders through direct connections and required client and internal status meetings.

  Develop cost proposals in response to client requests, present at client interviews, and negotiate with clients in coordination with portfolio operations personnel.

  Monitor project budgets and schedules and act to manage within budget and schedule.

  Work to meet client expectations and build trust with clients and their representatives.

  Short term travel to project sites will be required, travel expectation is generally 20%.

  Here’s what you’ll need :

  Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering.

  Professional Registration (RA or PE) in any state.

  8 years of experience as a Project Manager in an Architecture or Engineering organization.

  Strong working knowledge of building design and construction, systems/components and technology, construction drawings and specifications, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building.

  Experience with Commercial and/or Industrial building types.

  Experience with Federal or Defense Contractor clients.

  US Citizenship required.

  Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  Personnel management experience.

  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple task and IDIQ contracts.

  Located in Irvine or San Diego area.
