Position Summary: The Regional Director is responsible for setting the vision and managing the clinical operations of Perioperative Services for both Backus Hospital and Windham Hospital. The Regional Director will collaborate with physician leaders, the management team and relevant clinical and administrative leaders to ensure that the highest level of quality patient care is delivered. The Regional Director will improve operating results across the entire Perioperative Services line by creating an integrated service line business plan and operational metrics that align with the achievement of key regional and system strategic objectives. Key Accountabilities: * Develop and maintain the expansion of the Perioperative Services Line across the East Region * Collaborate with the Nurse Managers for oversight and leadership, ensuring the appropriate placement of patients, considering patient and staff flow patterns, scheduling, clinical programming, staff management, fiscal and regulatory oversight * Maximize productivity at all times by effectively managing activities within the hospital and works to achieve organizational financial metrics. * Provide leadership, training, and counseling to frontline management staff. Support, promote staff development by facilitating staff attendance and participation in education programs and council/committee meetings * Adhere to, support and implement hospital policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission as well as local, state and federal regulatory agencies. Promote hospital and divisional safety requirements. * Manage clinical emergencies and operate an internal and external disaster plan. Resolve clinical complaints issued by patients, families, and/or physicians. Participate in disaster management and training * Create a healthy work environment that values and demonstrates skilled communication, true collaboration, effective decision making, meaningful recognition, appropriate staffing, and authentic leadership * Recommend departmental policies, procedures and best practices to senior management and implement the approved policies, procedures and practices in a timely and efficient manner * Responsible for the administrative supervision of the surgical Physician Assistant program and takes administrative call as scheduled * Participates in educational programs, seminars and conferences * Develop short-term and long-term goals and direct the planning and execution of department projects * Bachelor’s and Master's degrees are required. At least one degree must be in Nursing * Five plus years of nursing management experience in Perioperative Services in an acute care setting, preferably in the OR * Current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut * Certification in Leadership within one year from date of hire * CNOR certification is preferred * Experience in direct operational issues in a 24/7 clinical environment * Highly effective analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills * Strong communications skills required - both written and verbal * Excellent leadership skills decision-making and organizational skills.
