　　The Role

　　Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is offering a $1500 sign-on bonus to TRADE Experienced hires. In addition, NNS is offering $2000 in relocation to TRADE Experienced new hires that live 50 miles or greater from Newport News, VA. The sign-on bonus is for external new hires. Current Newport News Shipbuilding employees are ineligible for the sign-on bonus.

　　Candidate works to extreme details under direct surveillance of company and customer representatives. Job requires individual and team participation on varied shift schedules and overtime working on ships and in shop areas. Applicant must pass qualifications including health exams, classroom, practical examinations, on- the job and complicated refueling training . Job involves exposure to radiation, accessing heights and confined spaces, Candidate must be capable of obtaining a security clearance.

　　Must Have

　　Candidates must able to work at extreme heights or small confined spaces.

　　Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb.

　　Must be able to lift 40 lbs and must take and pass a respirator fit test.

　　Must be able to work indooors/outdoors year round in all weather conditions.

　　Must be able to work assigned shift as production needs.

　　Must be able to pass Physical Agility Test.

　　Candidates must be able to successfully complete radiation and mobile equipment operator physicals.

　　Candidate must be able to successfully complete radiological training.

　　The candidate must be able to understand written instructions and strong math skills are essential.

　　Nice to Have

　　Mechanical background preferred, confidential or higher security clearance preferred.High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Successful completion of a technical/vocational program in Machining, Diesel Technology, Automotive, HVAC, Mechanical.
