  Enterprise Records and Health Information has an outstanding opportunity for a RECORDS ANALYST - PATIENT IDENTITY WORK SCHEDULE

  100% FTE, Days

  Mondays - Fridays

  100% Remote POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  Responsible for assisting with electronic records integrity, access, release initiatives, and audits, including the legal, medical record, and designated record sets throughout units and teams in ERHI

  Communicates with UW Medicine Compliance, UW Medicine IT, and other stakeholders about the status of records initiatives related to identity, access, and release, including the legal, medical records, and designated records sets

  Ensures accurate analysis of records and assists with preventing unauthorized disclosures DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

  Enterprise Records and Health Information (ERHI) is a Shared Service Department that supports all aspects of the patient medical record from governance, integrity, documentation timeliness, completion, clinical coding, billing, release, and tracking to management of access, retention, and destruction.

  ERHI provides advice and resources related to the lifecycle management of all UW Medicine records

  ERHI is an integral part of the Enterprise Revenue Cycle and has a unique role in the organization that supports both clinical and operational activities. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  Assists with monitoring and tracking requests for records, including medical records, and prioritizes requests for records according to date and deadline

  Ensures records released meet HIPAA requirements and other federal and state laws and regulations concerning privacy and access

  Collaborates with UW Medicine Compliance and other stakeholders regarding on-time releases and tracking

  Ensures records released are analyzed following the parameters of the requests and includes reviewing content and verifying completeness of the form before release

  Analyzes and responds to requests for sensitive information, such as subpoenas, court orders, risk management, and investigatory requests, and is responsible for ensuring that legal requirements are met when complying with these requests

  Issues official communications and responses on behalf of the department. Ensures compliance with legal requests by providing timely correspondence and responses to the issuing attorney or court, abstracting and compiling medical records in response to requests, and ensuring timely delivery and responses. Analyzes records to ensure information necessary is provided in a timely and accurate manner

  Assists with reviewing and verifying patient identity utilizing Epic tools and other resources and with auditing scanned records, including medical record documents, ensuring the integrity of the content of the database

  Tracks and reports productivity and other metrics related to volume, productivity, and integrity of electronic records, including the legal, medical, and the designated records set

  Collaborates with other ERHI stakeholders and actions as subject matter expert on patient identity and content integrity. Completes special projects as assigned, including providing backup for other teams, such as patient identity and scanning depending on changes in work volume, and assisting in developing office documentation, job aids, and training material REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  Bachelor's Degree and two years of records analysis experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted, year-for-year, for the required education.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
