Join our team in Hinckley, MN with our new clinic set to open in February! We are seeking a Radiology Operator to work day/evening hours. This position will also have lab duties they will be trained to complete. This position is eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus! In this role you will be: Responsible for administration of ionizing radiation to patients of all ages for diagnostic and/or research purposes, providing patient services, and performing radiographic procedures using radiographic modalities. Will also be responsible for performing tasks to support pre-analytical and post- analytical functions within Essentia Health Laboratories. Promotion of patient safety while performing specimen collection and processing. Education Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
General x-ray: Performing supervised and unsupervised x-ray exams in an outpatient & inpatient setting
Providing optimal patient care utilizing established and accepted techniques during administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic imaging that is appropriate for the age of the involved patient population (ages 0 to death)
Upon proven competency, operators are limited by the exams they can perform on small children and babies. Evaluation of abilities is approved and documented by a manager or QA Tech
Safe transfers of patients to and from wheelchairs/carts with knowledge of safe handoff
Assist with department workflow by completing exams in EPIC/PACS and cleaning/stocking exam rooms
Following instruction from staff technologists and establishing good communication with other departments
Collects specimens through venipuncture or capillary skin puncture and other miscellaneous specimens (Urine, swabs, etc.)
Performs specimen processing and handling according to testing requirements to support clinical laboratory testing
Performs laboratory testing, when applicable, per accreditation and licensure requirements
Participates in training of new employees, students, and other personnel as appropriate
Follows Essentia Health rules and policies while handling specimens and equipment to ensure safety and quality
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma
Graduate from a Medical Laboratory Assistant Program or complete an internal MLA training program within 1 year of hire
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Certification/Licensure Requirements:
Minnesota: Complete Basic Radiographic Operator training and successfully pass the Minnesota Radiology Exam with 3 months of hire
North Dakota: Must hold current Limited X-ray machine Operator (LXMO) licensure through the North Dakota Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDBMIRT) upon hire
Valid MN Department of Health x-ray Operator Certificate or ND Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners certificate, dependent on state of work location
