JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview Performs radiographic procedures and relatedtechniques. Administers x-radiation to produce diagnostic images forphysician interpretation. May be asked to flex hours and overtime asnecessary to provide quality patient care at assigned sites(s).Works aspart of a multidisciplinary team, serving on committees andparticipating in projects as requested. Various Clinics, Janesville WIHours will vary (PRN/Float Pool) Monday - Friday, Day Shift (NotFulltime) Responsibilities Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures.Depending on clinic assignment, may also perform patient reception,phlebotomy/specimen collection duties, rooming patients, and takingvital signs. Corroborates patient\'s clinical history with procedure,ensuring information is documented and available to the radiologist andprovider. Prepares and positions patient for procedures, providinginstructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimizeanxiety. Selects and operates imaging equipment, image capture devicesand accessories to successfully perform procedures. Positions patient tobest demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient abilityand comfort. Immobilizes patient as required for examination. Assumesresponsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs ofpatient during procedures. Initiates basic life support when necessary.Determines radiographic technique and exposure factors. Appliesprinciples of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient,self, and others. Processes images and reviews for proper identificationand quality control. Uses radiology information systems (includingPACS), completes all required records and reports, submits images anddata for physician review and interpretation. Provides practicalinstruction for radiography students and other partners. Observesuniversal protocol, standard precautions and appropriate patientidentifiers. Applies principles of patient safety during procedures,including assisting and transporting patients. Utilities appropriatescripting, barriers, and patient identifiers. Education and ExperienceGraduate of an accredited School of Radiologic TechnologyCertification/Licensure ARRT Radiography registration required IEMA-DNSradiography accreditation required if working in Illinois WI-DSPSradiographer license required if working in Wisconsin Approved CPR orBLS certification within 90 days of hire Special Physical Demands TheSpecial Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of theposition with or without reasonable accommodations.
