General Responsibilities
1. Providing early outreach to low-income students with informationabout the importance of postsecondary education, as well as accurateinformation on how to prepare, apply, and pay for it.
2. Providing interest inventories and skills assessments to assistindividuals in making informed career decisions.
3. Facilitating the development of individual career plans andportfolios.
4. Assisting students with enrolling in education or training programs.
5. Providing information on careers, career pathways, and educationalrequirements. Providing opportunities for job shadowing, mentoring,internships, visits to business and industry, and other career awarenessactivities.
6. Providing or connecting low-income students to support services thatwill ease the transition to postsecondary education.
7. Connecting educationally disadvantaged students to bridge programsthat teach basic academic skills in the context of training foradvancement to better jobs and postsecondary education.
8. Connecting students to academic enrichment activities such as studygroups, tutoring, and workshops on study skills
9. Providing a continuum of career guidance to ease the transition frommiddle school to high school to postsecondary education or training andultimately to the workplace.
10. Complete reporting related to student interaction, progression, andcontacts.
11. Other duties may be assigned, which relate to the mission and goalsof the Arkansas Works program.
