Job Functions / Responsibilities
Distributes work assignments/priorities to team representatives in accordance with the team objectives.
Coaches team on quality processes, procedures, and documentation.
Leads team in daily quality audits, repair activities, teardown/recovery processes, and salvage/non-conforming product processes.
Instructs, assists, and coaches team members on the interpretation of assembly and part prints, job procedures, specifications, attendance, workmanship, safety, housekeeping, and 5S requirements.
Assists with developing and conducting quality training programs.
Completes and analyzes data and identifies trends and plant improvement actions, as well as interacts with team members to implement solutions.
Creates and maintains quality metrics and handles quality reporting.
Encourages associates to pursue new and innovative ways to improve quality and productivity.
Serves as department engine and process expert.
Provides engine technical training, support, and leadership for direct team, the plant, and external customer .
Responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe and efficient workplace.
Lead continuous improvement activities and support lean environment and re-work/scrap reduction.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelors degree preferred
Thorough working knowledge of engines as well as engine failures and diagnosis.
At least five (5) years of experience repairing/working on engines is required. professional/work related experience repairing/working on engines with PACCAR diesel engine experience preferred.
Excellent technical, verbal, and written skills
Ability to coach and train associates at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment.
Six Sigma belt training preferred.
Demonstrated motivational and team building skills and ability to influence team members in a positive manner.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Demonstrated problem solving skills.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
