Our Shannon MRO facility is a centre of excellence for electrical rewinds, providing repair services to airlines and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organisations. As the Site Quality Leader, you will be responsible for overall Quality Assurance (QA) & Regulatory Compliance (RC) areas at the Shannon site. The position manages the execution of Quality Assurance objectives, leads the quality team, and sets strategic and day-to-day objectives for the achievement of immediate Quality Assurance goals. You will interact across the broader Aftermarket team to leverage best practices and ensure all site requirements are maintained and improved, while also partnering with the on-site team to implement new repair development, while continuing the ongoing support of existing repair operations.
Purpose of the Position:
Uphold the quality standards at Collins Aerospace Shannon and its subcontractors on all items for repair, materials, and processes in compliance with Collins Aerospace and National Aviation Authority Airworthiness requirements.
Implement the Safety Management System and Independent Quality Compliance Monitoring System function in accordance with the Aviation Authority regulations of EU, USA, Canada, China, and UK.
Manage the Company Maintenance Organisation expositions and procedures.
Develop and implement continuous improvement projects for Collins Aerospace Shannon and maintain the company’s continuous improvement operating system (CORE)
Liase with the Aviation Authorities on all matter of quality and regulation compliance.
Manage all communications with Collins Corporate Quality Organisation in meetings, submitting reports and implementing corporate systems and initiatives.
Act as independent auditor of site’s Engineering Design Organisation Approval licence
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages execution of Quality Assurance function to include strategy and execution of the Quality Management System (QMS)
Process owner for Corrective Action, Escape Management and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
Manages assigned Quality personnel to ensure tracking, trending, and analysis of data to identify initiatives for reduction of Escapes, COPQ, etc.
Work with the extended quality team and peers in other functional groups to drive reductions in Escapes, COPQ via root cause analysis & problem solving and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Manage Corrective Action Boards, Metrics & Management Review processes.
Manage Data, Document Control & Management processes (includes technical data) throughout the organization, ensuring compliance with necessary standards.
Manage and assist in developing and simplifying standard work for areas related to quality.
Manage all activities associated with supplier quality, warranty process, part purges, calibration and MRB activities
Manage regulatory compliance at Collins Aerospace Shannon as defined by regulatory authorities and as outlined in the Maintenance Organisation Exposition
Performs product, process, and quality audits.
Oversight for the internal audit program and ensure compliance to internal and external accreditation agencies (AS9100, etc.).
Reviews quality data and determines if all products and processes are aligned with regulatory standards.
Leverage continuous improvement processes and tools (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) to improve process performance.
Monitor product reliability statistics and lead root cause analysis investigations and corrective actions for all customer returns
Lead a positive culture and championing diversity and inclusive leadership.
Principal FAA and other foreign aviation regulatory agency liaison for maintenance operation regulatory matters to ensure regulatory compliance.
Partner with Engineering/Operations to ensure product safety and quality through hardware release and records management.
Implement, monitor, and operate safety management and quality compliance systems.
Supervise, direct and lead quality team to ensure quality procedures are effectively implemented.
Provide feedback from internal and external audits and seek corrective action to address non-compliance and follow up and ensure closure.
Ensure repair personnel are working to current procedures and specifications.
Manage, recommend, and write procedures that are in line with good Human Factor principles.
Supervise, train, assist and delegate to staff as required.
Advise, schedule, and assist in the training/development requirements of staff.
Provide information on quality, progress reports and statistical information as required.
Responsible for component reject analysis.
Monitor and review the Shop Floor Procedures.
Conduct audits at subcontract organisations, provide support and advice to the subcontractors /suppliers on quality matters.
Grant approvals to inspectors and certifying staff.
Be proactive in safety/hygiene and ensure that all safety procedures are adhered to in their area of control.
Work with the Workshop Manager to review human factors issues and concerns.
May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one's skills.
Attributes, Qualifications & Experience Required for Position:Licensed Aircraft Engineer or a Bachelor’s Degree in Quality or Engineering
Minimum 5 years prior relevant experience in a similar role ideally in electrical component overhaul in aircraft maintenance
Demonstrated experience as site lead for all relevant regulatory authorities such for IAA, FAA, CAA UK, CAAC.
Lean Six Sigma training and practical experience.
Excellent written and oral communications skills

Demonstrated supervisory experience.
Leadership skills and a strong business acumen.
