Job Description:
Under the direction and guidance of the Manager of Quality Assurance, the Inspector’s primary role will be to inspect incoming and in-process electronic assemblies and mechanical hardware. Primary duties will include assisting in the daily departmental functions of inspection and assisting in defect reporting.
Essential Functions:
Perform incoming, in-process and final inspections on electronic assemblies and mechanical hardware.
Ensure that product is manufactured to the latest applicable configuration documentation.
Identify and segregate non-conforming product and prepare Defect Reports.
Certify and assists in maintaining ESD stations and monitor employee ESD compliance.
Certify and assists in maintaining equipment calibration.
Participate as a member within Material Review Board (MRB).
Assist in defect tracking and evaluation process (as directed by the Q.A. Manager).
Participate on cross functional teams to help drive continuous improvement.
May perform additional duties as assigned, including working in other functional areas to cover absences or to balance the workload.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
2+ years working as a Quality Inspector.
2+ years of experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
2+ years using micrometers and calipers.
2+ years reading blueprint and wiring diagram readings.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Ability to speak, read, and write the English language.
Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, sketches, and test procedures to determine assembly and inspection methods for electrical and mechanical components.
Ability to record accurate inspection data and write a concise report of findings.
Good interpersonal skills; pays attention to detail; and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to use mechanical and electrical measuring instruments (dial calipers, micrometers, multi-meters, etc.)
Basic understanding of electro-mechanical assemblies.
Ability to adapt to various job assignments with minimal direction/supervision.
Familiarity with IPC, ASTM, and Military Standards a plus.
