Quality Assurance Lab Supervisor
For over 40 years, San Antonio Shoemakers, a San Antonio, Texas based company, has developed a reputation as a premier American manufacturer of high quality comfort footwear. SAS has an opening for a Quality Assurance Lab Supervisor in the San Antonio factory. The manager must learn SAS manufacturing methods and processes to create an exceptional product and then lead a team to continuously achieve excellence in production, quality and efficiency.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Oversee all Lab testing and test reports.
Oversee all Quality Test Schedules and release of Raw Materials to production.
Provide Quality Standards to Quality Control, Production and the Lab.
Respond to any Quality Issues in the factory dealing with Raw Materials.
Communicate with Purchasing Buyers to address Quality Issues that are non-conforming and support purchasing explaining issues with vendors.
Support the Quality Control Inspection team, when needed, by providing experienced knowledge of acceptable degrees of Quality when materials are in question.
Provide testing results and CoC related to the military contract production.

Must be detail orientated when checking materials for non-conformance.
Must be self- motivated and willing to work on whatever project is assigned.
Must be willing to change priorities when the need arises.
A self-starter who enjoys taking on new challenges to expand his/her role.
Mature, responsible and self-motivated individual with a strong work-ethic.
Willing to get involved in anything and everything with an “It Can Be Done” attitude.
Able to multi-task handling several projects, while working independently or with a team
Ability to work in a fast-paced, open work-space environment.
Highly motivated and able to follow instructions.
Must be detail oriented and able to work with numbers.
Must have absolute ability to exercise confidentiality.
Excellent job performance and attendance.
Bilingual a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical labor is often necessary for 8 hours or more per day with breaks approximately every two hours including sitting, standing walking, stooping, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, vibration, noise and engaging in repetitive motions.
Excellent vision to inspect material and products for defects.
Work will be conducted in a climate controlled office environment.
Ability to input data (typing) into a computer for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as some rolled goods require some lifting.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or its equivalent.
Some experience in manufacturing (Preferable but not essential).
Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook.
Experience populating reports from multiple data entries and presentations.
Statistics tools and control (Preferable but not essential).
Experience leading small teams (if not experience on this, leadership mindset to drive teams).
