Description

　　Under the general direction of the Program Director and Director of Nursing, the Part-Time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the psychiatric treatment of adolescent-age clients at the Walpole campus in Walpole, MA. This position is part-time, 20 hours per week.

　　How You'll Be Making a Difference

　　Conduct initial, follow-up and emergency psychiatric assessments of the clients assigned.

　　Provide psychopharmacology assessments on an on-going basis and provide updates on the diagnostic treatment and psychopharmacology to appropriate parties.

　　Consult with clinicians weekly to discuss the psychiatric aspects of cases and sit in on clinician/client meetings weekly. Consult with nurses, pediatricians, psychologist and others regarding treatment, medical issues and medication of children.

　　Participate in treatment planning meetings.

　　Provide education on psychiatric methods, diagnosis, and medical treatment to staff

　　Participate in Administration Team meetings and meet with Program Director on a regular basis.

　　Write psychiatric evaluations and documentation of meetings, monitor labs and complete all appropriate paperwork in a timely, well written manner.

　　May oversee a program task force such as wellness initiatives and/or exercise initiatives.

　　Qualifications

　　Possess and maintain graduate professional nurse, and nurse practitioner registration in the state of Massachusetts, which must be unrestricted, current, complete, and active.

　　Obtain Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

　　Possess Bachelor’s degree in Nursing followed by a Master’s degree in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing from a state approved and accredited school for professional nursing training.

　　Possess strong understanding of societies and their impact on mental health; ability to solve problems, monitor and examine patients.

　　Experience working with population with various mental health diagnoses.

　　2 –5 years’ experience treating adults, adolescents and children with complex medical, psychiatric and/or neurological issues.
