The hospital's 57-bed facility in Mansfield Center, Connecticut, provides inpatient care for over 650 children and adolescents and 1,300 adults with mental illness or substance abuse issues each year. The Medical Director for Psychiatry in the East Region provides leadership and direction to administrative and clinical phases of behavioral health services including Inpatient and Outpatient Services, mental health and addiction treatment services and behavioral health research within the Behavioral Health Network. Provides direct supervision to the Department’s physician/physician extender and allied health professional staff and is responsible for ensuring the quality and continuity of services delivered. _Administrative, Teaching and Research Services:_ · Hire and retain medical staff with a focus on high quality care, patient access, safety, and an exceptional patient experience. · Foster a culture of team-based, patient-centered, recovery-oriented care. · As a senior medical leader, provide vision, hope, and inspiration to the staff (medical and otherwise) as well as build an environment of trust, fairness and collaboration. · Use metrics that accurately reflect the goals - such as LOS for access, and readmissions for quality.
