These positions offer the opportunity to work with an excellent team and help establish our new facility. Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is seeking individuals who are driven to make an impact to our patients’ lives. If you are someone who wants to make a difference, share in growth and development, and know at the end of the day you have made a positive impact, then our Psychiatric Technician Trainee position might be for you!

POSITION INFORMATION: Our Psychiatric Technician Trainee position is an underfill position for applicants that do not meet our Psychiatric Technician qualifications. This allows those applicants to receive and complete necessary training and allow time to obtain more experience and/or certifications so that they can be considered for a promotion to the Psychiatric Technician position. These positions will be working under the direction of the Director of Nursing to implement, maintain, and manage patient care and safety. This position also requires applicants to become certified in CPR and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. Employees may be required to work weekends, holidays, day, evening and night shifts (swing or night shifts include 5% shift pay). Applicants with a CNA or a certification for Recreational Behavioral Technician (RBT) are encouraged to apply.

This announcement may be used to fill full-time, part-time, and temporary positions. Temporary positions are limited to working 1,385 hours in a 12-month period for any one state agency. Employees are eligible for benefits if they work twenty (20) hours or more per week and the term of employment is expected to exceed five (5) continuous months.

The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace.   Any applicant offered employment in this position at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test. In addition, successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal history background investigation. Employment is dependent upon satisfactory results of the investigation.

This is an ongoing announcement which means at the time applicants apply, we may or may not have an opening.
