The Project Support Specialist functions in a support role to Project Managers (PM) within the Territory on Field Service related PM activities. The position is accountable for project support activities to help the PMs drive operational excellence of projects within the designated territory including risk, commercial, operational, and close out activities for the local execution of field service projects within the territory. The Project Support Specialist is expected to travel up to 10% of the their time to customer sites with the associated Project Manager to support the PM with operational tasks. The Project Support Specialist for each territory reports directly to the Territory Manager
How You’ll Make an Impact
Support Territory Manager and Project Managers with tasks related to field service project bidding, booking and execution relation activities.
Assist Project Managers with developing, maintaining, and revising project schedules as needed.
Assist when needed with assembling the booking deck for every FS project that is won in the territory with input from the Project Manager and the Client Manager. Address any issues identified by the PDMT team quickly and escalate any open items promptly to the Project Manager for quick resolution.
Support the team during WIP reviews on specific follow-up activities. Support PMs with forecast submission and aggregation to territory management.
Timekeeping for projects when needed – Support the PMs with timekeeping for their crew.
Support the Project Managers with job cost tracking, verifying billable hours for customer timesheets, reconciling time sheets vs job cost, project invoicing and project closeout.
Assist with invoicing follow-up as needed. Assist with portal system entry such as Track, etc.
Act as the point contact in the territory for AR overdue discussions for the collections team and work with the respective PMs and CMs to respond to the collection teams’ specific requests.
Support Project Managers with maintaining the PEP and OnePM sites for each project. Administers Kick off meetings and completes timely project closure.
Power user for SAP for the branch to address SAP-related questions from Project Managers
What You Bring
Required:
Minimum completed High School or equivalent educational experience
Minimum 3-5 years project, order management, cost management related experience. Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.
Travel within the Region on occasion to visit sites is required.
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
Preferred:
Knowledge and experience of the Oil & Gas or Generation Services industry or equivalent
Demonstrated project support experience,
Experience with commercial and contractual processes
Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
