The Project Management Coordinator is a career level professional that provides overall document management and support to the project management and engineering functions for primarily large capital projects (greater than $1MM) and other large special projects requiring strict governance. These task include but are not limited to – developing preliminary and final engineering drawings, as well as collecting, developing, and filing final as-built documentation, maintaining engineering support documents, serving as system administrators for document and process management software systems (Fusion Live and Primavera P6), and maintaining large capital project cost controls processes through Design phase. Assist Project Managers and Construction Managers with expediting orders for materials and tracking delivery dates.
Key Responsibilities

Develop preliminary, final, and as-built engineering drawings and documents with some l assistance from the Engineers and Project Managers as well performing research and basic tasks to assist Engineers during the design & construction process.
Contributes value (insight based) deliverables and executes departmental strategies.
Develop cost estimates of line, substation, and generation facilities.
Develop cost estimate historical files for future reference
Maintain and apply the work breakdown structure (WBS) for engineering studies along with the initial WBS structure for projects greater than $1MM
Maintain cost controls Project Portfolio Management (PPM) documentation for accuracy
Work with Engineers and Project Managers to ensure all project documentation is captured and filed in the proper format per the Capital Project Management Playbook and ensure that documents follow our WBS standards.
Assist Engineers and Project Managers with the preparation of project procurement documents including material list, spreadsheets, and technical specifications.
Provide communication to Project Managers to provide status updates on project activities and identify risks in delivery or resourcing needs.
Expedites and tracks material deliveries for large capital projects (greater than $1MM)
Serve as backup for system administrator for Fusion Live & Primavera P6
Works through diversified procedures and specialized standards and precedents covering many situations
Generally, works independently and receives some guidance concerning project support, cost estimating, and administrator function
Trains new team members on cost estimating and project cost documentation
Decision-making involves the use of judgment and there is some emphasis on the development of new/improved procedures as well as the translation of policy into operational plans.
Solves problems that have an impact on supporting the Project Manager
Qualifications
Required Education, Skills & Experience
Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Accounting, Business or related field
3+ years of related experience preferred
Knowledge of leading practices for their practice area
Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences
Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment and presenting ideas and opinions in a respective and collegial manner
Strong customer focus
This level is based only on availability in approved org design/structure; strict adherence is required.
Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of business requirement
