POSITION PURPOSE The University of Washington is seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to oversee and lead the IDD Crisis Intervention Pilot Program. This critical initiative aims to provide short-term stabilization and transition support for individuals found incompetent to stand trial due to an intellectual and/or developmental disability (IDD), who are or have been Trueblood class members. As the Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the interdisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Behavioral Analysts, Speech Language Pathologists, Social Workers, a Research Coordinator, and other clinical team members. Your responsibilities will encompass fiscal management, project management, community outreach, human subjects management, research study management, , and ensuring the protection of patient health information. This position will also coordinate these services with other clinical and research programs focused on the intersection of neurodevelopment and physical and mental health at the University of Washington
This project is funded by Washington State senate bill 5440. Funding for salary and benefits staff working on this project is expected to be approved through June 30, 2025. As this is a pilot project, funding may or may not be available after June 20, 2025. In the event that there is not funding for this project to continue, staff will be laid off due to a lack of funding.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Project & Fiscal Management: 35%
Develop and execute a comprehensive project plan, including goals, timelines, and milestones.
Identify opportunities for program improvement and expansion, leveraging data-driven insights.
Work closely with leadership to align program strategies with organizational goals.
Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring the responsible allocation of resources.
Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and report on financial status to stakeholders.
Collaborate with financial experts to secure funding for the program's sustainability and growth. Research Study Management and Program Evaluation: 30%
Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements for clinical studies involving human subjects.
Collaborate with Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) and researchers to facilitate the necessary approvals and oversight.
Collaborate with Washington State agencies for accessing, managing, and storing documents and other communications.
Develop and implement procedures and policies to meet requirements of clinical research studies involving human subjects, including data collection methods and strategies for data management.
Oversight and participation of screening, recruitment, and interviewing of potential participants to determine eligibility according to specific study protocols.
Explain treatment protocols to participants and their representatives and respond to their inquiries.
Coordinate all aspects of the participant's care in relation to program outcome measures. Strategic Outreach, Community Education & Communication: 20%
Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, governmental agencies, and advocacy groups.
Conduct outreach activities to educate the community about the Trueblood Pilot Program's objectives and services.
Develop and implement strategies to engage community stakeholders in program planning and support. Team Supervision: 15%
Directly supervise and lead a multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Behavioral Analysts, Speech Language Pathologists, Social Workers, and a Research Coordinator.
Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, and communicate key information, deadlines, needs promptly
Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring project objectives are met.
Approve time sheets, time off and triage any concerns, issues or problems; escalate issues and concerns via the appropriate channels in the Department of Neurology. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's in a relevant field (e.g., Healthcare Management, Public Health, Business Administration).
2-3 years work experience
Proven experience in project management, especially in healthcare or clinical settings.
Strong fiscal management skills, including budget development and financial reporting.
Knowledge of human subjects research and clinical study management.
Familiarity with patient health information protection and HIPAA regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for community engagement and team leadership.
Experience in strategic planning and program development.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and navigate complex healthcare systems.
Leadership skills and a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
